appSolutions is proud to announce the availabililty later this year of appSolute Management 5.0. This new version will provide a new rich .NET user interface using the soon to be released OpenEdge 10.2A and the OpenEdge GUI for .NET from Progress Software.
appSolutions is well under way to developing the newest version of their Change Management system with the latest technologies from Progress Software. Working together with business partner Consultingwerk Ltd (Germany) and Progress Software (USA), development is underway for a new version of appSolute Management using .NET as the primary User Interface.
OpenEdge GUI for .NET
Progress Software are adding embedded support for Microsoft .NET in the UI components of their development tools. Together with advanced User Interface controls from Infragistics, this gives their customers the ability to create applications with a .NET UI - while still using the powerful Progress ABL for both UI and business logic development. This new release from Progress Software is called OpenEdge GUI for .NET.
Dynamics4.NET
Consultingwerk Ltd., a Progress Consulting Partner and appSolutions business partner, has been working closely with Progress Software on developing Dynamics4.NET, a rendering engine and extension to the Progress Dynamics framework using the OpenEdge GUI for .NET. appSolutions and Consultingwerk have been working together to use appSolute Management as a reference application during the development of Dynamics4.NET.
The joint cooperation on this development will ensure that appSolute Management can be released with the new UI shortly after Progress Software releases the OpenEdge GUI for .NET and Consultingwerk release Dynamics4.NET.
The move to a .NET interface gives appSolute Management a considerably modernized User Interface and facilitates the addition of new advanced UI controls such as calendaring. All of these will help in providing a look and feel that is more in-line with other modern applications on the market today.
appSolute Management 5.0 will be released at the same time as OpenEdge 10.2A and Dynamics4.NET, making it one of the first commercial applications available on the market using the OpenEdge GUI for .NET.
