appSolute Management 4.0 Released - Web on the way
appSolutions is proud to announce the release of the next generation of appSolute Management - vesion 4.0.

The new version built with Progress OpenEdge 10.1B is the starting point for the next generation of appSolute Management, with many new features planned in the near future.

The first version of appSolute Management based on Progress OpenEdge has just been released. This version of appSolute Management runs on the latest version of OpenEdge and is a technical move forward for the product.

"We are very excited with this release of the product. With the migration to OpenEdge we can start adding many of features we have wanted to add to the product for a long time. Among these are a web interface for the CallDesk, Knowledgebase and TimeSheet parts of our Change Management system. At the same time, we can move towards a SOA architecture and the use of Progress ProDataSets. All of which provide much more technical flexibility and make it easier and faster to add support for new technologies to our products" say Thomas Hansen, Technical and Services Director of appSolutions.

appSolute Management version 4 provides the same functionality as the previous version, but on a faster platform, with better performance as an immediate gain. Progress WebClient is still the delivery mechanism for application's thin client with a rich GUI interface.

appSolute Management Web
Development has now started on appSolute Management Web. This is due to be released towards the end of 2007. AppSolute Management Web will provide a web interface to the core CallDesk and Knowledgebase modules of the application. This will allow end-users to access the system and log, update and review their own calls. This will make the process of providing technical support and knowledge sharing with end-users much easier and intuitive than it is today.

appSolute Management web will also provide browser based access to employees TimeSheet registration. This enables employees on the road to be up to date with their timesheets, even on computers that do not have appSolute Management installed.

appSolute Management features under development
With the release of appSolute Management 4.0, development will shortly commence on new features that will increase usability and productivity for our customers. Features include:

  • Automated mail retrieval and processing for CallDesk
  • The addition of new advanced UI controls extend the user desktop experience with features such as calendar timesheet overviews and more reporting features.

Completely new features are also being added to the system. These include:

  • Expense management
  • Asset Management
  • Integration of timesheet and project management with invoicing systems.
  • Integration of appSolute Deployment with CallDesk and Client Deliveries.
